This week is focused on many repetitions of simple, common words. If your child cannot produce these correctly even with your help, switch to modeling the words while your child watches and listens (have them count your productions to keep them engaged).

  • Sides of tongue touch upper back teeth (like when saying "EEE")

  • Air goes through a central groove in the tongue

  • "SH" is quiet (voice off), "ZH" is loud (voice on)

Homework Tip: While practicing these words, focus on the target sound ("SH" & "ZH").
Don't worry about errors on other sounds your student can't produce yet.

For example, if they can't say "L," and they say "weash" instead of "leash," that's okay because we're focusing on "SH."
